Some images from Africa!
Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11:22PM We're back and we're changed people. It's going to be very hard to communicate the feelings we experienced while there. As they say, you had to be there... Well, short of that, here are just a few images from the experience. FYI, I used Lightroom 2.0 beta and processed them entirely without Photoshop to save time. Normally I would work every image in Photoshop, but LR can do some pretty cool things now. I used one of the built in web galleries to create the presentation. There are icons for a full screen slide show too if you wish. Here's the link to the show: Rwanda 2008

Wonderful images! I've always imagined Rwanda to be a beautiful place. Your photos really capture the beauty of the land, but most especially the people.
I was lucky enough to meet General Romeo Delaire (the subject of "Shake hands with the Devil") and despite the atrocities he witnessed he has a great fondness for the Country and it's people.
Good on you for your efforts over there.

Wow, you think you are prepared for what you'll see and how they live, but I wasn't. As I type this my daughter is in Tanzania, doing orphanage and AIDS education for 4 weeks. God Bless You!
Thank you so much for posting this journal. Myself and 2 girlfriends will be heading to Kenya in February for our own experience with orphans. After getting negative feedback from many people about our upcoming adventure, your pictures give us re-assurance that we are doing the right thing and we look forward to the life altering experience. Congratulations!

Awesome images. Yes, you have to be there. I DID go there, and it too changed my life. Rwanda is one of the most beautiful countries ive seen and its people are 100x as beautiful. I absolutely fell in love with both Rwanda and its people. What was amazing to me was how people who have next to nothing make the absolute most of what they do have. Thanks for sharing these glimpses of your trip.
Wow!! These are really powerful images. Thank you for sharing :)
